Dr Hao Wu

Senior Lecturer in Property

Biography

Dr Wu received his academic qualifications from the University of Melbourne, the University of Auckland and Nanjing University. He has conducted research on commercial property markets and cycles in China. His other research interests include valuation and price theory, urban economics, brownfields and sustainable urban growth. He applies new institutional economics and case study method to areas such as property rights, valuation, policy design, and investment strategy. He explores spatial economics in property rights and housing supply context where the market system influences the ownership and structure of societies.

Dr Wu has taught at undergraduate and graduate levels. He serves on the editorial board of Journal of International Housing Markets and Analysis. He is peer reviewer for numerous academic and research journals. Dr Wu is member of the Australian Property Institute (API). He has previously served on the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor (RICS) Victoriana & Tasmanian Professional Committee (2008-2012) and on the training and education committee of the Australian Property Institution Victorian Chapter respectively (2008-2012). He was columnist (2005-2007) for China Real Estate Business, Architecture & Planning section. From 2010 he is a member of the senior common room at Ormond College.
