Biography
Professor Sun Sheng Han's research and teaching expertise are in the areas of urban and regional development, strategic planning and analytical methods in urban studies. He joined the University of Melbourne in mid 2007. Professor Han was a tenured Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore before relocating to Melbourne. In his career, he also practised urban planning in the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (Beijing, China); taught at Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada); and worked in the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (Nagoya, Japan).
Professor Han has been working on a research agenda which links theories of the spatial organisation of urban activities with the dynamics of institutional and economic restructuring in the Pacific-Asia region. He has been active in pursuing his research agenda and successful in fund raising, graduate student supervision, research collaborations and publications.
