2022 ABP Teaching Awards - applications open now

Nominations for the 2022 ABP Teaching Excellence awards are now open. The awards recognise sustained improvement or impact on the quality of students' learning experiences, and the relevance of subject content and skills. ABP aims to provide outstanding education to enable the next generation of the highest quality built environment professionals and academics. Their learning with us will prepare them to advance into the world and to adapt and design solutions for a future that we cannot yet predict.

The categories of the 2022 Teaching Awards are the following:

  • Open Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Sessional Teaching Excellence Award (open to sessional teaching staff only)
  • Students' Choice Award
  • Teaching Innovation Excellence Award.

The process for nomination has been streamlined from previous years. The nomination guidelines outline the nomination and selection process, with nominations to be submitted via an application form to abp-dean@unimelb.edu.au by no later than Monday 24 October 2022.

In the words of the ABP Dean, Julie Willis:

This year has continued to throw us challenges, yet colleagues in ABP have continued to show resilience and dedication in all that they do. Throughout the year, we’ve seen some extraordinary achievements and seen those who have consistently gone above and beyond.”

The Celebrate your Teaching section of the BEL+T website contains information on past ABP Teaching Excellence award winners. On this page, you will also find other avenues and support for ABP staff to have their teaching celebrated, acknowledged and recognised at various levels. If you are considering applying for an award, you are welcome to contact BEL+T at abp-belt@unimelb.edu.au to talk through the application process.
