ALASI 2023 – Call for Proposals

The University of South Australia has announced a call for papers for the upcoming Australian Learning Analytics Summer Institute (ALASI) 2023, themed Synergies in Education: Empowering Minds through Learning Analytics and AI. The event promises to delve deep into the intersection of education, analytics and artificial intelligence.

ALASI 2023 aims to harness the combined expertise of educators, researchers and practitioners in a collaborative environment. The goal is to explore the transformative potential of learning analytics and AI in reshaping the educational landscape.

Key themes of the conference include:

  • Human-AI Partnership in Learning: The confluence of human expertise and AI in educational processes.
  • Intelligent Learning Systems: The latest in AI-enabled learning platforms and systems.
  • Learning Analytics and Data-Informed Instruction: Tools and methodologies to interpret educational data effectively.
  • Personalisation and Individualised Learning: Tailoring education using AI and learning analytics.
  • Ethical AI in Education: Navigating the ethical landscape of AI in education.
  • Augmented Educators: How AI can enhance the role of educators.
  • Enhancing Education Access and Equity: Bridging educational gaps with AI and analytics.

ALASI 2023 will place special emphasis on interactivity, and Proposals for Interactive Sessions that stimulate discussion and collaboration are invited. Session designs could range from brainstorm challenges and world cafes to panels, tutorials and hackathons.

In addition to interactive sessions, there will also be a Poster Session where practitioners, researchers, and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students can showcase their work. HDR students are especially encouraged to present their ongoing projects and research.

  • Notification of acceptance: 2nd October 2023
