Examples of When Staff Should Seek Guidance

  • Third party involvement for assessment purposes only

Steven is an architect working in a small architectural practice. Next semester he is planning to run a CDE Design Studio, which will involve students interacting with one of his clients and investigating the feasibility of a real project brief. Steven plans to invite the client to participate in both the interim and end-of-semester design crits. He does not believe there is a conflict of interest, as the client’s project has been documented and is out to tender.

Heeral will collect the data during the mid-semester break and will only use the data for the development of her subject. The student survey will be anonymous and completed online.

Two of the suggestions were for staff to be active on social media and retain examples of curriculum documents and student outcomes in their teaching portfolio. Jerome plans to adopt both ideas in the coming semester, in preparation for applying for a promotion.
