The SoTEL (Scholarship of Technology Enhanced Learning) showcase series will feature best-practice case studies from invited speakers across The University of Melbourne academic community.

The series is open to University of Melbourne staff and graduate researchers.

The SoTEL Showcase #2 features four case studies of Technology Enhanced Learning from the University of Melbourne academic community.

Invited presenters include:

  • Dr Hayley Bugeja, Faculty of Science
  • Dr Robert Crawford, Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning
  • Dr Charles Sevigny, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
  • Stephen Aiello, PhD candidate, Melbourne CSHE and Paramedicine Lecturer, Auckland University of Technology

Robert Crawford will speak about how he used technology as an alternative delivery mode to replace several lectures in a large first year subject, Understanding the Built Environment. This project was funded through a FlexAP LTI grant, and supported by the work and research of the BEL+T group. Learning resources, including videos and animations were embedded into virtual panoramas as part of two online learning modules, giving students a more immersive, engaging, context specific and accessible learning experience. The resources have since been modified for use in several other subjects across the Faculty.
