ABP Library Goes Digital

The ABP Library team would love to know if there’s anything else they can do to support you and your students, and to provide access to digital collections for your subjects. Please get in contact with the Library to explore options.  Please also note that from Wednesday 22 April the Library Catalogue search has defaulted to online collections.

The ABP Library team would love to know if there’s anything else they can do to support you and your students, and to provide access to digital collections for your subjects. Collections:

  • The University Library has been busy negotiating with the large publishing houses to provide access to digital content. This includes materials that publishers have been reluctant to provide to institutions before.
  • The ABP Library has had some success with individual publishers. If you have a specific request for any of the more niche publishers, please get in contact with the library.
  • The ABP Library team have also gone through the catalogues of every eBook publisher and placed orders for titles that are of interest to the faculty.

Digitised Collections:

  • The Library is working with their colleagues at Digitisation to make digitised collections available as soon as possible, including the long-awaited theses collection.
  • The 3D scans of the Miles Lewis Building Material Collection are coming soon.
  • There is also potential to use in teaching some of the library's “dark archive” material, such as Bill Mitchell slides and selected items from the Yuncken Freeman Archive, and more. Please contact the Library for more information.

Guide & Videos:

The ABP Study and Research Guide is being constantly updated to reflect any changes to library resources and services. This should be the first place students are directed to.  If students need specific help please refer them to the library, a link to contact details is below, or can be found on the ABP Library site, below the drawings of Library staff portraits.

The Library has made some videos in Canvas on:

  • APA and Chicago referencing,
  • Searching for Ebooks,
  • Working with Images and Copyright,
  • Searching for Historical and Heritage Resources,
  • Using the University archives for design research.

Please contact the ABP Library team if you would like to access these or would like some content created for your subject/s.
