ABP Library update: teaching support

Updates from the ABP Library to support your online teaching for winter intensives and semester 2.

While the Library works through the University’s processes for a staged and co-ordinated process of returning to campus and opening Library spaces and collections again, you can find general library updates posted online here, and submit a resource request here.

  • The library offers services to help your students find the materials listed in your course readings lists. These services are the High Use collection and the Readings Online service. You can find information about these services here.
  • To support online resource access, the library has an extensive and growing collection of ebooks and online journals via the library catalogue or Discovery interface. Please use the library link generator for any direct web links you create to these materials to ensure your students get easy direct access.
  • Readings Online allows you to set and organise readings and to redeploy reading lists for future iterations of your subject. Instructions and assistance for Readings Online are available here.

Furthermore, the ABP Library is offering the following advice and support for faculty staff:

  • The ABP Study and Research Guide remains the best place for students to access general information. The home page has our contact details so students can ask us questions directly.
  • The ABP Library can work with you to create content for the students in your subjects, either through live Zoom sessions or pre-recorded videos and resources embedded in the LMS. For some examples of how this was done last semester, check out this showcase of Semester 1 LMS content (you will need to enrol for access).
  • Where possible they have tried to find e-formats for anything in High Use. If they haven’t found a readily available option the ABP Library can explore alternatives to support your teaching.

Please contact the ABP Library if you have any queries or you would like to discuss how they can support your teaching this semester.
