Blackboard decommission: Last days for staff to access LMS

This is the last week that historically-submitted student work can be retrieved from Blackboard.

As of 7 September, the Blackboard decommission process will enter the next phase and all students and staff will have their access to Blackboard revoked. After this date, previously submitted student work will no longer be accessible and can not be retrieved by staff.

Until Monday 7 September, staff can download archived versions of their Blackboard subjects by navigating to Packages and Utilities and then to Export/Archive Subject in the left-hand sidebar.

To download previously submitted student work from your Blackboard subject (by 7 September):

  • Navigate to Subject Tools, then to Turnitin Assignments in the left-hand sidebar
  • Click on each assignment, then select the empty check-box at the top of the list to select all submissions
  • Select ’Download’, then ‘Original Files’.

After 7 September, only published subject materials can be retrieved, which can be done by submitting a Learning Environments support request in ServiceNow. If you are unsure whether you will need to access archived content in the future, such as student submissions or group work, we strongly urge you to submit a request this week.
