Canvas Updates: September

Canvas has deployed some recent updates this week. Find out more about these recent improvements and fixes below:

Direct Share Code Search

'Copy To’ enables staff to copy items to another subject or community. When using the ‘Copy To’ feature in Direct Share, the full LMS subject code is now displayed in subjects that have the same or similar names.

Student Extension Availability Date Rephrase

In the Moderate Quiz page, the Student Extension window includes clarification about quiz availability dates and student extensions. This change helps with clarification regarding availability dates and student extensions in Classic Quizzes.

Assigning Student within Groups

As part of creating a group set, teaching staff can now create groups based on a number of students per group. Once a number of students has been assigned, students in the course will be automatically and randomly added to groups. For example, a subject with 11 students where each group has five students will result in two groups of four students and one group of three students.

Subject (Course) and User Search Character Count

The minimum character limit has been reduced from three to two. This change enables subjects and users to be searched by only two characters in an account, which accommodates more subject and user names that may contain only two characters.
