Create a Virtual Site Visit with our new guides

BEL+T has created a range of guides to help you create your own virtual site visits. Consider these approaches to support your teaching during Victoria's lockdown restrictions, and beyond.

With Victorian lockdown restrictions in effect for most of semester 2, 2020, you may need to find alternative teaching activities for your planned site visits. The solution may be to go virtual.

BEL+T has created a range of simple-to-follow guides on how to create virtual site visits that easily integrate into your Canvas page. The most suitable method for your subject will vary; depending mostly on your location and whether or not you have access to pre-recorded images/footage.

Access the Virtual Site Visit guides here

Current guides include:

  • Using Google Street View in Canvas
  • Turning static or 360° images into interactive scenes with H5P
  • Hosting 360° video footage with Kaltura

with more to come shortly.

To help you understand each approach, we have created live examples of these methods. You can test out each example via the ABP BEL+T Canvas Community. A button to enrol in this community can be found at the top of the BEL+T Virtual Site Visits page, as well as a direct link to access the examples.

If you are currently looking to develop or modify a site visit component for your subject, please take some time to look through these guides and examples. If you need further support, you can contact BEL+T directly.
