Supporting Student Mental Health

A 40-minute online mental health training program has been developed by Counsellors from Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for staff who need to know the essentials in supporting students experiencing mental health  problems on campus.

Wellbeing

It covers topics including an introduction to student mental health, how staff can help, responding to students in distress, and the support services and resources available. Two-day accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) programs are offered to staff who would like to access more in-depth training about how to provide initial support to people who may be developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. These programs are facilitated by Counsellors from CAPS who are also accredited MHFA  trainers.
