Why is my subject no longer visible on my Dashboard?

How to add (or re-add) subjects to your Dashboard in the LMS.

This article was sourced from Learning Environments News.

What is the LMS Dashboard?

Your LMS 'Dashboard' shows the subjects that are currently active or that you have made 'favourites' and is the first page you see when you log into the LMS. The Dashboard is intended to be a quick and easy way to access the subjects that you most frequently need.

Why do subjects disappear from the Dashboard?

At the end of a particular subject, the LMS will automatically remove the subject from your Dashboard. The subject is still accessible to you, but you will now find it in your 'Subjects' area in the global navigation bar on the left of the screen,  in a full list of your subjects; past and present.

When does the subject 'end'?

All subjects have individual start and end dates determined by StudentOne. The LMS start date is 10 days before the start date or before the pre-teaching start date, if it exists and is earlier than this date. The end date is the assessment period end date plus 6 weeks. Most SM1 subjects end on 14th August.

How do I add a subject to my Dashboard again?

If you find that a subject is no longer on your Dashboard and you would like to add it again for easy access, you can do this by:

  1. Click the Subjects icon in your global navigation bar
    Subjects tile in LMS
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the list of your subjects and click 'All subjects'
    All subjects link in LMS
  3. Click the 'star' next to the subject to make it a favourite and it will show on your Dashboard.
