Working with Children Check Reimbursements

From Wednesday 1 January 2020, the University will not reimburse any staff member the cost of obtaining a Working with Children Check (WWCC).

This applies to all staff members who require a WWCC as a pre-requisite to employment. No changes to the recruitment of staff are required. All new staff requiring a WWCC must submit a valid application number as part of their onboarding. To do so, their application must be finalised and paid for at an Australia Post office. It is recommended that new staff are made aware of the
requirement as early as possible, to give them adequate time to apply for their WWCC. Casual staff employed in 2019 are eligible for reimbursement if they: accepted an offer of employment after 14 December 2018, and, are required to hold a WWCC for their employment at the University as indicated on their offer of employment, and, have applied for a new Victorian employee WWCC
and provided those details to the University in their onboarding form or via the University's declaration form, and, seek reimbursement via iExpense prior to 31 December 2019. Further information can be found on Staff Hub: http://go.unimelb.edu.au/6go6
