A Modernity Different From All Others: Giuseppe Terragni in Rome
A recently established archive of Giuseppe Terragni’s works and designs has paved the way for an international travelling exhibition which explores Terragni’s projects created specifically for Rome.
Exhibiting at the Melbourne School of Design in the Dulux Gallery, Terragni in Rome juxtaposes archival images with contemporary photographs and combines designs, sketches and art from both completed and proposed projects.
Terragni in Rome reveals a unique period in Italian architecture, with Terragni’s works revealing a struggle between modern and traditional, and reconciling a rationalist language with a Mediterranean spirit.
This exhibition is part of Melbourne Design Week. Melbourne Design Week is an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.
