The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) is a $20 million initiative funded by the Australian Government’s Super Science scheme. AURIN will provide built environment and urban researchers, designers and planners with infrastructure to facilitate access to a distributed network of aggregated datasets and information services.

MELBOURNE SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY INSTITUTE

The Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute mission is to progress sustainability as a societal goal, in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. We achieve this by being a portal to sustainability-related research at the University of Melbourne, and a platform to facilitate multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional research.

VICTORIAN ECO-INNOVATION LAB

The Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab (VEIL) seeks to identify and promote emerging technical and social innovations for future sustainable systems as a response to the critical challenge of our times: the urgent need for fundamental social, technical and structural change to bring about a low-carbon economy.

CRITICAL RESEARCH IN DIGITAL ARCHITECTURE

The research group CRIDA engages in digital research and teaching projects as vehicles for critical inquiry and development of innovative design practices at various scales supported by digital media in architecture, urban design, landscape and environmental design. We are interested in development of digital technologies, their cultural implications and emerging design futures.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS APPLIED RESEARCH NETWORK

LEaRN is a multidisciplinary forum, a portal and an international network bringing together academia and industry to research, imagine and discuss physical learning environments in school, vocational, university, medical and corporate contexts.

AUSTRALIAN COLLABORATORY FOR ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY, URBAN AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

The Australian Collaboratory for Architectural History, Urban and Cultural Heritage (ACAHUCH) provides an international perspective on research and teaching in architectural history and heritage with a particular emphasis on Australia and the Asia-Pacific.

THRIVE RESEARCH HUB

The Thrive Research Hub will carry out applied trans-disciplinary research that will lead to thriving cities through the development of real world solutions for the built environment.

URBAN DESIGN, TRANSPORT AND HEALTH RESEARCH HUB

This Hub will explore how the effects of urban form and transportation influence the health of the residents of cities. Understanding such complexity will influence the future design and sustainability of our cities.
