Maiko Sentina

Biography

Maiko was admitted to practice in 2015. She holds a Practising Certificate and is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales. Maiko joined Terri Janke and Company in April 2016 and she helps clients navigate intellectual property law and commercial law issues. She has worked on public art commission and licence agreements, trade marks (advice, registration and opposition), and she provides advice on Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) issues and protocols.

In 2017, Maiko co-authored Indigenous Knowledge: Issues for protection and management, a Discussion Paper commissioned by IP Australia and Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS).

Recently, Maiko led the development of Indigenous Engagement and ICIP Protocols for a client, an ASX listed company. As part of the project she also worked with the client for nationwide implementation of the Protocols by designing presentations and training materials, and by conducting in-house training workshops to over 150 staff members.
