Kim Dovey and Reden Recio visited Dhaka in May 2019 to explore research collaborations between InfUr-,  the Urban Development Program of BRAC and the School of Architecture at BRAC University.

From May 10-16 this year Kim Dovey and Reden Recio visited Dhaka to explore research collaborations between InfUr-, the Urban Development Program of BRAC and the School of Architecture at BRAC University.

After a range of meetings including the Vice Chair of BRAC and the Australian High Commissioner, a Letter of Intent was signed by all three parties on May 15 and a pilot project is now in preparation.

During the visit Kim Dovey also gave public lectures at BRAC University and at the Bangladesh Institute of Architects (with some spirited discussion about ‘livability for whom’. InfUr- Research Assistant Tanzil Shafique was organizer and host par excellence, including a day in the giant informal settlement of Karail (Tanzil’s field site) and other sites including Old Dhaka and the Geneva Camp.
