Dr Kimberly Winson-Geideman
Dr Kimberly Winson-Geideman joined the University of Melbourne as a Senior Lecturer in Property in 2013 where she teaches courses in real estate finance and investments.
Kimberly left a career in real estate development to further her education at Cleveland State University. She earned a doctorate in Urban Affairs in 2003 and went on to hold teaching and research positions at Savannah State and Texas A&M universities, most recently serving as tenured Associate Professor of Real Estate in the College of Business at the University of North Texas.
Kimberly's research interests include a variety of real estate-related topics ranging from brownfields to REITs to technology in real estate. She published a series of articles on historic property valuation that earned recognition from the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and a manuscript prize from the American Real Estate Society. Dr. Geideman has also received awards for teaching and additional manuscript awards in real estate portfolio management and property education. Her publication record includes articles in the Journal of Real Estate Research, the Journal of Real Estate Literature, The Appraisal Journal, and the Journal of Environmental Planning and Management, among others. She is a board member of the International Real Estate Society, a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Housing Markets and Analysis, and a fellow in the American Real Estate Society where she serves as the Chair of the Academic Membership Committee.
