TBC – To Be Constructed

What does it take to keep a building for 1000 years?

Description

To Be Constructed is a self-sustainable structure that bridges the space between Docklands and the Bolte Bridge.

This vertical city is a self-evolving network of spaces allowing for alteration and adaptation in the future.  The modular system can be increased in density, allowing for large, unobstructed spaces or smaller, intimate spaces. Larger construction elements contain amenities including electrical cables, drainage, waste recycling systems and solar batteries. The spaces formed can be attached and designed around the frame in a “plug-in” manner.

The city will evolve as those who can afford it move upwards and outwards to the spaces with sunlight and fresh air.  The lower levels will become devalued and eventually abandoned as water levels rise.
