Ericsson Pods

Locally made modular pods reactivating the Ericsson site for work, social and residential use.

This project leverages local manufacturing capabilities as the catalyst for a new business and mixed-use precinct. The Ericsson Pods development evolves over time, facilitated by the on-site fabrication of modular ‘pods’ built as demand grows. The pods are plugged into several arms that emanate from a central node, designed to act as a community hub; a place for reorientation, recreation and exchange of ideas. The western part of the site sees the historical Ericsson buildings retained for light industrial (pod manufacturing), research, and green technology development, while the east provides residential, offices, and community facilities.
