Meadowlink: A Change of Place

Creating an urban centre that relies on sustainable modes of transport, particularly walking and cycling.

Meadowlink is a green corridor that links east and west Melbourne. The corridor not only creates a much needed linear recreational path but also becomes a spine for local activities and sustainable initiatives.  A part of the Meadowlink design is a railway pedestrian and cycling bridge. The corridor provides opportunities to promote cycling within the suburb by providing safe and attractive cycle paths. Meadowlink opens up Merlynston Creek to a range of community activities. Community gardens and urban farms have transformed vacant parcels of land, markets and other community food activities takeplace alongside these productive garden creating a vibrant local food culture.
