Banksia 2035 – Live, Shop, Share, Grow

Banksia 2035 responds to the social concerns of the current public housing model.

It envisions the housing estate as a ‘post-suburban’ landscape, one that asks us to reconsider residential sites so that they foster a series of micro and macro communities. By changing the way we think about community spaces, road networks and housing typologies, we can begin to re-imagine suburbia. The housing typologies focus on the need to produce living configurations that shift away from the single family home and towards the concept of shared, flexible spaces, paying close attention to changes in household structure, meeting the needs of 21st century families. Banksia 2035 aims to create a cultural epicenter of Broadmeadows.
