Banksia Gardens Sustainable Community Precinct

This twenty-five year strategy regenerates the Banksia Gardens Housing Estate in Broadmeadows to improve the social and physical conditions of the housing estate and re-cast the perception of the area in the minds of the wider public and the residents themselves.

The site is transformed to comprise a mix of public and private residential, providing a safe environment with a strong sense of community engagement and renewed pride in the area. Key sustainability features include a constructed wetland grey water filtration system, a combined heat and power on-site generation facility, and roof mounted Photovoltaic panels generating electricity to power street and car park lighting.
