Broadmeadows Urban Arts Hub
An adaptive re-use strategy transforms the redundant Broadmeadows Town Hall into an Urban Arts Hub for the North.
The scale of the building and spaces is broken down via a series of interventions such as new entrances, material treatments, compartments and mixed-uses that assist the building in being suitable for a variety of occupancies. The building is treated as a cavernous hanger that houses a series of modules allowing it to adapt to the needs of the community. The Broadmeadows Urban Arts Hub breathes new life into a building with so much potential and community with so much cultural experience and knowledge to share.
