Tower of Power

Why cool an empty fridge?

A clever, modular fridge that is divided into sections. The divided fridge saves on energy by prioritising both the type of food in the fridge and how often people want to access particular foods. The majority of time a fridge is opened is to access milk and other frequently used foods, yet when people get the milk the temperature of the whole fridge is affected. The modular sections allow the fridge to regulate the temperatures of the individual compartments. The top section is based on the traditional African methods of cooling and requires no electricity at all. The design of the fridge also uses environmentally efficient and recycled materials.
