Personal Transport Pod (PTP)
A single-occupant automated pod, specifically for commuting in reserved road lanes.
A move away from petrol-based cars does not mean that we won’t have private forms of transport. Public transport can be effective & efficient, but there are many desirable aspects to travelling in your own private car. The PT Pod travels in separated priority lanes on Melbourne’s roads and highways, so that commuting to work in these automated private vehicles becomes the premium way to travel. Pushing desirability through comfort, priority, privacy, customisability and autonomy is this designer’s deliberate approach to shifting our mobility to a more sustainable model.
