Sunshine Bus Terminal

Designed to catalyse a broader shift to sustainable transport for Sunshine, the Terminal expanded the original bus zone to integrate with the overpass and create separate zones for increased bus services and passenger numbers. The bus terminal is on the ground floor, and it includes bike parking, bike-share, electric vehicle stations, an express gym, food courts and the Post Office. Level One provides pedestrian connections across the railway line and a site for a farmers’ market. Above this, the central tower is used for community workshops and a greywater recycling system, while the buildings on each side are one- and two-bedroom apartments. The apartments provide semi-public space as well as private balconies and passive cooling.
