Sunshine Studio Atelier: Week Six

Mid-semester review with guest panel.

Thursday 5th April marked week six of semester with students giving their mid-semester presentations to a panel of invited guests. This was their first opportunity to get feedback on their projects from a range of panellists, including Lukas Nott, Brimbank City Council, Marlise Harris, Brimbank Youth Services, Ian Woodcock, Melbourne University, Rob Eales, VEIL, studio leader Michael Trudgeon and myself, Jessica Bird. Most students have begun to focus what they learnt from their research into a design concept, and are grappling with the nature of ‘wicked problems’ present in their projects. We would like to thank our wonderful panel for their comments about the students’ projects, their insights prove very valuable in the further development of the projects.

Following their presentations and feedback provided by our guests, students will have Easter and the mid-semester break to continue developing their projects before classes return at our studio atelier in Sunshine Plaza.
