Biography
Dr Sofia Colabella is an architect and Lecturer in ‘Construction Technology in Architecture’ at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning of the University of Melbourne. Her PhD was in ‘Architectural Technology’ with a thesis entitled ‘Innovative uses of small wooden laths in architecture’. Sofia is co-founder of ‘Gridshell.it’, a company specialised in the design and construction of performative timber architecture. She is also co-founder of ‘CMMKM Architecture and Design’, an architecture practice based in Italy, and focused on applying sustainability concepts to contemporary living.
