Future of Work

This project tracks the mix of organisational and physical workplace changes already implemented, changes being considered or tested, changes in employee’s sentiments and experiences.

The post-COVID workplace: are (unhealthy) offices at risk of extinction?
This project aims to track and understand, through comparative analysis, how employees’ and organisations experiences of the rapid work from home (WFH) transition caused by COVID-19 have shifted, what the longer-term emerging issues are, and challenges faced in attempts to return to the office. It builds on critical snapshot survey data captured by the research team of the Australian workplace landscape collected during the 2020/2021 lockdowns. A wider demographic (generational) layer to the dataset is generated by including interviews and roundtable workshops across all levels (intern, graduate, mid and senior career) and age groups of employees and leadership (middle, senior and executive management).
