MSD Illuminated

MSD Illuminated turned the MSD building itself into a canvas from which to showcase creative design by our international student cohort.

MSD Illuminated showcases the work of the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning’s international students from Semester 1, 2021, through a series of on-campus visual projections across the Melbourne School of Design’s Glyn Davis Building exterior.

The last 18 months have seen the way we work, study and learn change dramatically.

Students have demonstrated their agility, commitment and resilience, often switching between in person learning to at home learning at incredibly short notice in line with the rapidly changing circumstances around COVID-19.

Our Faculty’s offshore international students in particular have faced the added challenge of not being able to return to Australia for their studies.

MSD Illuminated finds a way to celebrate our offshore students and physically connect them to our campus and Faculty home in a unique and visually striking way.

Works featured here are from students in both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
