There are many ways you can engage with our students, impact their learning and develop their careers. Support the Faculty and MSD through donations to scholarships, studios and research.
Support students and research
General Scholarship Fund
Education is imperative for the technological and digital future, with design and the built environment disciplines sure to play significant roles. We have established the General Scholarship Fund to remove barriers to education and excellence.
Bharat Dave Scholarship Fund
Professor Bharat Dave joined the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning in 1997. His research revolved around spatial design practices and futures supported by digital technologies.
Hugh O'Neill Scholarship Fund
For over thirty years Hugh O’Neill AO was the first year coordinator at the Faculty of ABP. During this time, he helped found the enthusiasm and careers of thousands of students.
Graham Treloar Fellowship for Early Career Researchers
Dr Graham Treloar was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, and a world-leading researcher on the environmental impact of buildings.
Our greatest needs
Philanthropic support to the Faculty of ABP allows the Dean and the Faculty's Executive to direct income into areas where it will have the greatest impact or assist with immediate financial needs.
Fund our research
The Faculty is undertaking research in materials used in the built environment and new techniques for designing and building which will improve cities and regional towns - their design and heritage.
Contribute to the Dean's Honours Awards
An annual celebration of our most talented students and staff. The awards, which are generously sponsored by corporate and industry bodies, acknowledge outstanding academic achievements. Past recipients are amongst our most accomplished alumni. The awards would not be possible without the support of benefactors, including companies and organisations such as Bates Smart Pty, AECOM, Australian Institute of Building and the Australian Property Institute.
Support a Studio
Studio-based learning, advocated by the University of Melbourne, has proved an effective model of learning producing industry-ready graduates. This practical approach requires significant resources and equipment which is often funded by industry benefactors. Donating supplies is a simple yet meaningful way of partnering with us and providing our students with vital resources and experiences.
Make a Bequest
A bequest in your Will is a unique way to support educational excellence and opportunity. Bequests provide valuable support to programs and the Faculty, making a positive and long-lasting impact on the lives of our students and researchers. You can ensure that the people and causes you hold dear are treated the way you wish for generations to come. Your generosity has the potential to significantly transform the lives of our students and researchers and reinvigorate the built and natural environment. Anyone who makes a bequest automatically becomes a member of the Heritage Society at the University of Melbourne.
Create a Named Scholarship
For those seeking to recognise a specific area or discipline, or to create a legacy remembering a family member or corporation, we offer opportunities to endow named scholarships.
Please contact Andrew Middleton (ABP Development Manager) if you wish to discuss any of the opportunities to support us.
We are indebted to the generous community of friends, alumni and industry colleagues who share in our vision for the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning.
Your valuable support enables our staff and students to engage in new and innovative ways with the vast array of issues facing the built environment, ensures our capacity to excel in educating our future practitioners, and contributes to a sustainable and healthy built environment into the future.
