Overlapping Emergences: Design Education between Disciplines and the Digital

Covid-19 delivered technologies into the centre of teaching and learning faster than many expected. Design educators of all stripes developed and tested new approaches, iteratively applying designerly skills in support of newly distributed students. The digital became a (sometimes unwelcome) mediator of learning relationships, as well as an avenue to reach for engagement beyond usual physical constraints. New connections are highlighting the specifics of perspective, while offering interdisciplinary collaborations in a context both online and re-grounding. So many fuzzy edges …

This panel will explore the practices and possibilities lurking in these overlaps. It will consider technologies as inspirations, tools and outcomes of newly emergent educational approaches. It will ask what might be made of this moment.
