Associate Professor Uwe Rieger

Uwe Rieger studied physics and architecture in Germany. He is co-founder of the Berlin-based interdisciplinary group [kunst + technik] e.V., the architecture office XTH-berlin and the creative start-up hub Exchange Christchurch. His work is focused on responsive architectural systems using Extended Reality concepts.

Since 2006, he is an Associate Professor at the University of Auckland, where he has established the arc/sec Lab for Cyber-Physical Design and Interactive Systems.

Uwe Rieger`s artistic projects have been internationally published and exhibited at renowned institutions such as the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, the Museum of Modern Art Barcelona in Spain, the National Museum of Indonesia, the Venice Architecture Biennale in Italy, the World Expo and the International Building Exhibition IBA-See in Germany and the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria.
