Biography

I have always been drawn to architecture, from as early as I can remember and before I even knew the meaning of the word! Growing up in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, I lived and studied in built environments that were lacking good urban, social and environmental design principles. I knew architecture had the potential to create beautiful, functional, diverse and inclusive environments for everybody, and I wanted to be a part of creating that world.

After earning my Master’s degree in Architecture from Deakin University, I began my architectural journey working with a specialist health architectural firm, Billiard Leece Partnership in Melbourne where I explored my passion for delivering socially sustainable architecture with a focus on how buildings can support health and wellbeing. The desire to work on other typologies including residential and educational projects led me to join the team at MSM Architects in 2015. As an experienced registered Architect specialising in health and social architecture, I am driven to design buildings for people; architecture for me derives its meaning from the interactions we have with it.

I have been delivering specialist disability housing for the past six years, working with various not-for-profits, such as Blairlogie and Residential Independent Living services (RIPL, a division of the transport accident commission) delivering Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). I always aim to deliver quality, affordable, and socially inclusive buildings. I recently had the privilege to work with the Department of Health and Human Services on a series of universally accessible, affordable homes designed to help combat homelessness that incorporated Livable Housing Design Guidelines and the adaptable housing standards.

When I’m not busy working, I love spending time with my family including our two miniature Schnauzers. I also enjoy being an active member of my local community in the bayside suburb of

Frankston, volunteering on social committees including the Design Advisory Board at Frankston City Council.
