Biography

Kwan Ok Lee is Dean’s Chair Associate Professor of Urban Planning at the NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. She has been a board member of the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) as well as the AsRES representative to the International Real Estate Society (IRES) and the IRES Global Women in Real Estate since 2020. Kwan Ok’s research interests center on urban development and housing policy. Her research has appeared in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review: Papers & ProceedingsJournal of Urban EconomicsJournal of Regional Science and Journal of Law and Economics. She is Associate Editor for the Journal of Housing and Built Environment and the International Journal of Urban Sciences and serves on the editorial boards of nine peer-reviewed journals including Housing Studies. Kwan Ok has served as an academic expert for the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the Office of Policy Development and Research of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea. She received her PhD in Policy, Planning, and Development from the University of Southern California and Master in Urban Planning from Harvard University.
