Suzanne Hunt

Biography

Suzanne (Suzie) Hunt is founding director of Suzanne Hunt Architects. She was 2017 President of the WA Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects, the first woman to be elected to this role since its establishment in 1896. During her tenure as President, Suzie established the networking group #WorkWomenWisdom for women in design. The group meets quarterly and provides a safe place for women to share the ups and downs of their professional development and work life balance. As a mother of four, stepmother of two and fully-fledged member of the sandwich generation, Suzie is aware of the challenges of juggling caring roles with professional demands, and champions diversity, gender equity and sustainable work practices

Suzie is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and Chartered Architect of the Royal Institute of British Architects. She is Chair of the Curtin Architecture Advisory Board and the Deputy Community Representative on the Legal Practice Profession Committee. She is a presenter for the Australia By Design TV show and a columnist in The West Australian and Post Property News.
