Biography

Andrew Murray is a Research Fellow in Architectural History at the Australian Centre for Architectural History, Urban and Cultural Heritage (ACAHUCH). He completed his doctorate in Architectural History in 2023 at the University of Melbourne, which examined the flow of Western Australian architects to the United Kingdom in the 1950s to undertake a working holiday. Andrew has received the Dean's Prize for Postgraduate Publication from the Melbourne School of Design, the David Saunders Founder's Grant by the Society of Architectural Historians Australia and New Zealand, and the Norman Macgeorge Travelling Scholarship. Upon completion of his PhD, he worked as a caseworker for the Twentieth Century Society in London. He has lectured nationally and internationally on Australian architectural history and his work has been published in Fabrications, The Journal of Architecture and Historic Environments.
