Biography

Dr Timothy O’Leary is a Senior Researcher and Lecturer in Construction and Property with a broad multi-disciplinary Built Environment and Construction Industry background. His research, teaching and industry collaborations over 25 years cover Building Procurement and Building Regulations, Construction Industry Economics and Cost Management, Property Development, Building Performance and Housing Markets, Low Carbon, Smart and Sustainable Buildings, Information Technology and Building Information Modelling (BIM). He holds a Masters of Architecture degree from UNISA and a PhD in Sustainable Engineering of Buildings. He has worked on climate change adaption strategies for the built environment and Australian Research Council (ARC) funded collaborative projects on achieving greater lifetime affordability for housing in Australia. He has been an active researcher in the CRC for Low Carbon living ( 2012 - 2019). He is a past state chairman of the RICS, Oceania Regional board member and member of the Cost Engineering Victorian branch of Engineers Australia. He brings an industry knowledge focus to his academic position in the Faculty of ABP having worked on landmark construction projects locally and internationally.
