Canvas and Project Evolve

Find out more about the why, when and how of our move to a new Learning Management System (LMS).

The University of Melbourne is moving to a new Learning Management System (LMS). The new Canvas LMS will be implemented as a program of work through 2019 and will be hosting all subjects from the beginning of 2020.

As part of the migration to Canvas, Project Evolve (jointly led by Learning Environments and Infrastructure Services) has been working several pilot subjects for an early migration (2019 Semester 2). A number of subjects from ABP have been nominated to be part of this early migration.

The Learning Environments Evolve team has received a number of questions about implementing Canvas as the University's learning management system (LMS). The team is offering responses to Project Evolve FAQs (requires login) that will evolve over time.
