First-year teaching is some of the most rewarding work we do, and some of the most demanding. BEL+T's First Year Teaching workshop invites colleagues across ABP, particularly those teaching into the first-year cohort, to explore the opportunities and challenges of working with commencing students. Across two hours we'll consider who our first-year students are, how the transition from secondary to higher education shapes their learning, and the evidence-based strategies that foster belonging, engagement, and success in the first year. The workshop is designed to equip educators with grounded, practical strategies and tactics to implement into their own teaching.
