Charrette is a peer reviewed research journal of the association of architectural educators (aae) and is holding an open call for papers, essays, projects/narratives, polemics and book reviews for Volume 10, Issue 2.

As a journal focused on architectural pedagogies, the 10-year anniversary prompts a reflective and projective turn.

The theme “Where to go?, What to do?” is seeking responses to the questions:

  • How can we educate and prepare next generations to tackle such global issues as climate injustice, ecological breakdown, inclusivity, ethical practice, decolonising curricula?
  • How can we cease to replicate conventional modes of history-, theory- and place-making and explore points of radical innovation in architectural education and the current centrality of the design studio to create dialogue around its future direction?

If you have teaching practices that responsd to these questions consider submitting or feel free discuss with the BEL+T team. Submission types are broad and are accepted from educators, researchers, students and practitioners.
