Automatic posting of grades in Canvas
Find out how to change your grade-posting setting in Canvas from automatic to manual.
An often-overlooked setting of Canvas is that it will automatically post completed grades by default. This means that when you enter a grade for a student, they can see it immediately.
Some instructors prefer to finalise all grades, then share with their students once complete. You can find instructions on changing the primary setting for relating grades in Canvas – called the 'Grade Posting Policy', from automatic to manual here.
