Sessional Tutor / Studio Leader Opportunities
As a Sessional Tutor within the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning you will support undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, contributing to engaged teaching and the quality of student experience and learning outcomes.
As a Studio Leader you will contribute to our high quality and dynamic design focussed curriculum, drawing on your professional experience.
At graduate level, you will develop and lead an independent design studio in your area of expertise ensuring alignment with the MSD curriculum structure and engagement with contemporary discourse.
At undergraduate level you will lead a design studio within the established Bachelor of Design curriculum structure with briefs and conceptual frameworks determined by the subject coordinator.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong academic background, including a degree in a relevant field and professional or postgraduate qualifications with substantial (normally 5 years) professional experience or equivalent relevant qualifications and experience.
Relevant professional experience that enables you to connect contemporary industry or professional practice with theory and support student learning and employability is sought and highly valued.
We are looking to continuously strengthen diversity of backgrounds and perspectives of our sessional tutor cohort to complement Faculty’s capability for innovative pedagogy and classroom experience for our students.

IMPORTANT: Please note that there may be fewer casual teaching positions available for 2027 compared to previous years, and some of the subjects listed above may eventually not require any casual teaching support.
If you are interested in tutoring a class or studio, please create a profile and lodge an application during the application period. If you have taught at the Faculty before, please update your details in the system and put in an application for the subjects you intend to apply for this coming semester. Applicants must apply for each teaching period in which they wish to tutor.
