Figures and Figures is an exploration of the tension between the hyper-real presentation of corporate entities, and the reality of life behind the façade. It shines a light on the shadowy spaces that are only partially revealed and uncovers, unexpectedly, an optimism shining back.
The vehicle for the exploration is a tried and tested business model for revitalising stagnating businesses. The stage for this drama is a group of village shops that are transformed by applying a series of marketing tactics and economic rationalisation. The question that remains is which Figures are more important?
