Every year in Australia 100,000 people die in need of palliative care. The rise in aging population, chronic disease, and the disintegration of the nuclear family has led to an increased demand in the end-of-life care system.

Envisioning an alternative to the institutionalised palliative care dwelling; the Habitable Hospice is a passive building that focuses on integrating the community with the hospice, creating personalisation for the patients, and designing for the living while dying.
