The West Melbourne Interflowing Haven Co-Housing is a respite that gathers young urban dwellers who commit to embarking on a wellness journey together. Sensory stimulation engages human senses such as to see, hear, smell and touch along movement promotes wellness. The positive vibes stimulate connectedness that will eventually encourage stress-free communication among residents. The client of the proposal will be a privately funded association who rent out units for the residents. Temporary group targets on travellers or visitors who wish to experience short relief while graduates and newly married couples who are financially vulnerable but aim to own a house form the permanent group. Unlike typical apartment units, the co-housing focuses on the common spots that slot in between each residential unit. Each housing provides private core resting area for the residents while the living space with a small pantry are drawn out to the exterior common spots. A threshold area is incorporated at the entrance of each unit. It allows for transition and serves as a private bonding area for residents sharing the same unit. Wellness is a state of being. Both physical and mental well-being can be shaped by intimate relationship through a series of soft and gentle spaces – Interflowing Haven.
