‘Leviathe’: inspired by Wurundjeri folklore,
of an eel-like cryptid residing in the Birrarung River, as named by the Wurundjeri people
who once inhabited the site long ago.
This river was once used as a place for ceremony and congregation- livelihood, hunting and bathing. The most abundant source of life in the river, was the Silver eel.
In this project, the bath house is not only a place that brings comfort but also functions as a disconnect from the business of modern-day troubles; it attempts to incite feelings of a more carefree and adventurous lifestyle of the past, similar to that of the lives of those who once lived there.
