When the beauty of death is supported by quotations and lives are judged as foul and evil, will murder become an act of kindness? In The House That Jack Built (2018), Lars Von Trier, the controversial Danish director illustrates an eerie protagonist, Jack, a failed architect who is a prolific serial killer. For Jack, the at of murdering is a grand artistic gesture. In the movie ‘the house’ that Jack built, is a body house made of 64 human bodies. In this cinematic redesign project, the concept of constructing architecture from human bodies is further developed. The house is an art studio for Jack’s artmaking. The architectural language of the house refers to Jack’s aesthetic principles that are elicited from the original movie. The animation presents the house that Jack has built and its diverse space accommodating the process of his artmaking.
